Our Sponsor Spotlight: Palmetto Theatre of Walnut Cove
We’re proud to partner with the Palmetto Theatre of Walnut Cove, a historic landmark that has been brought back to life and once again serves as a gathering place for the community.
Located on North Main Street in Walnut Cove, the Palmetto Theatre has a story that goes far beyond movies. Originally opened in the 1930s by local entrepreneur Jesse Booth, the theater became a beloved part of the community before closing its doors in 1966.
For decades, the building sat unused and eventually fell into serious disrepair. But a group of local residents saw something worth saving. Rather than allowing this piece of Walnut Cove history to disappear, they worked to restore the building and return the Palmetto to its former glory.
Today, the Palmetto Theatre of Walnut Cove is once again a place where people come together. The beautifully restored theater hosts live music, tribute bands, classic movies, film festivals, theatrical performances, and other community events.
It’s more than a theater. It’s a piece of local history, a place for families and friends to gather, and a reminder of what can happen when a community believes something is worth saving.
We’re grateful to have the Palmetto Theatre as a sponsor of Hey, Are You Still There? and encourage you to check out their upcoming events and experience this special piece of Walnut Cove history for yourself.
